First, they made us cry in ‘100 Tula Para Kay Stella‘ way back in the very first Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino in 2017. The following cry, they broke our hearts once more in ‘The Day After Valentine’s‘ but still won the box-office of the PPP 2018. What’s with the JC Santos and Bela Padilla tandem under Jason Paul Laxamana? Sakitan na lang ba lagi?!
JC and Bela are back in ‘On Vodka, Beers and Regrets‘ which is under Direk Irene Villamor (Camp Sawi and Meet Me in St. Gallen) . Will we achieve a happily ever after by February 5?
Watch the teaser of the new movie above! Will having a different director mean a ‘happy ending’?
Bela Padilla is one of the most bankable actresses in the Philippines today. Not only is she beautiful and sexy – she’s really talented!
In the past years, Bela starred in a number of movies that are considered as box-office hits and critically acclaimed. As a big fan, I am happy to share my Top 5 Favorite Bela Padilla Movies:
1. 100 Tula Para Kay Stella
The biggest hit of the very 1st Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino! For me, this is the movie that made Bela Padilla a box-office star. In this Jason Paul Laxamana film, she plays the role of Stella, a college student who is in a rock band who caught the attention of the stuttering poet Fidel. An unlikely but special friendship developed between the two and eventually, they developed romantic feelings.
The movie is relatable especially for those who spent their college years in the province. I end up crying in the scene where Stella and Fidel reunited in Pampanga infront of the Mt. Arayat. “Hindi na puwede, eh..”
2. Meet Me in St. Gallen
Jesse and Celeste forever! This movie is a great comeback of Carlo Aquino as a leading man. The movie penned and directed by Irene Villamore is divided in three sections: A chance meeting in Manila, a coincidental meeting in a coffee shop and in St. Gallen in Switzerland. The movie is a perfect example of “we have the right love at the wrong time”. I sad there in the movie house still hoping for another scene for a happy ending (SPOILER: It’s Not!).
JC Santos and Bela Padilla are reunited for the 2018 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino for Jason Paul Laxamana’s ‘The Day After Valentine’s’
Kai (JC Santos), a distraught man meets Lani (Bela Padilla), a strong, confident woman who seems to have answers to all of life’s most difficult questions. Kai realizes that with Lani’s wisdom and “go-get” attitude, he may be able to fix everything in his life.
For the first time, Carlo Aquino and Bela Padilla are paired by Spring Films and Viva Films in Irene Villamor’s ‘Meet Me in St. Gallen’. Watch the trailer and fall in love with this new tandem beginning February 7, 2018. Need inspiration for your Switzerland trip? Watch this movie!
BELA PADILLA is not only an actress. She’s also a scriptwriter!
Her first feature script “Last Night” is a dark romance featuring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga. This serves as the reunion project of the two big Kapamilya stars after their classic movie “Starting Over Again”. Have you seen the movie? What can you say?
