Bela Padilla remains as one of the most competent TV and movie actress in the country. Apart from that, she also ventured into product endorsements, modeling, recording, blogging, vlogging and producing her own digital series!

Without further ado, we would like to share some of Bela Padilla’s career highlights in 2019:

1. Tanduay Calendar Girl for 2019

This is long overdue. I’m sure a lot of fans especially the male followers were inspired all throughout 2019 when Bela Padilla graced the calendars produced by Tanduay. The layouts were sexy but tastefully done. She also appeared in a commercial for the brand. La la la la calendar girl!

2. Sino ang Maysala? Mea Culpa

The suspense/drama ‘Sino ang Maysala? Mea Culpa’ made a lot of Kapamilya viewers love to hate Juris (Bela’s character). She is pitted against Jodi Sta. Maria and for the first time, she was paired to hunk actor Tony Labrusca. The series might be short compared to other drama shows of ABS-CBN (there’s no use extending it), but Juris truly made a mark.

3. OverthinKween and YouTube Channel

Want to know Bela better? Well, she has her own blog called OverthinkWeen, where she writes her thoughts freely. One of my favorite is her ‘wont fit the mold‘ post, which is relatable whether you’re from showbiz or not.

She also opened her YouTube account and uploaded some of her travels which includes Thailand and Canada. We’re hoping to see more behind-the-scene vlogs for her upcoming projects!

4. Created and Produced “Apple of my Eye” for iWant

Did you know that Bela Padilla created and produced the Marco Gumabao-Krystal Reyes starrer ‘Apple of my Eye’ in iWant? Yes! She’s the brains behind that kilig series! The said project was released online sometime in the first quarter of 2019.

It’s nice that Bela decided to cast Kapuso actress Krystal Reyes for the project mainly because she saw something in her during her ‘Mga Mata ni Angelita’ days. During that time, Marco is just being introduced a viable leading man.

5. Mananita

2019 is also the year that Bela went back to his action roots by starring in the Paul Soriano film ‘Mananita’, which garnered praises and recognition abroad before it was shown in limited cinemas here in the Philippines last December 4. Penned by award-winning filmmaker Lav Diaz, Bela plays the role of a soldier.

6. Miracle in Cell No. 7 – Second Choice is the Best Choice!

Though she is not the first choice for the role of Adult Yesha in the Philippine adaptation of ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’, Bela Padilla surely delivered and exceeded expectations when the role landed on her lap (Thanks Nadine!). As we write this yearender, Miracle in Cell No. 7 remains as the topgrosser of the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.

7. Sure Films in 2020: On Vodka, Beers and Regrets and Spellbound

Fans of the JC Santos-Bela Padilla loveteam will surely rejoice (and feel the joy & pain of love) by February 5 as their long-awaited reunion movie ‘On Vodka, Beers and Regrets’ will be shown this coming February 5. It will serve as the Pre-Valentine’s Day offering of Viva Films. This time, the movie is directed by Irene Villamor whom Bela worked with in ‘Meet Me in St. Gallen’ two years ago.

Another great news is Bela is scheduled to star in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean fantasy love story ‘Spellbound’ with Marco Gumabao. The two hosted the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night and yes, there’s chemistry between the two!

Whew! It seems like we will see more of Bela Padilla this 2020! Of course, no one is complaining!
